You steered you band mate in the right direction. The stock Blue Marvel speaker is tough and bullet proof but very sterile. I changed to a G12H30. Huge improvement. Other than that keep a good set of tubes in her (Bob at Eurotube) and learn how to use the tube retainers w/o breaking the tips off tubes. Great amp but even better with a speaker swap.
