It's funny, we're quick to attack the famous, but if someone had posted a video like this in Twanger Central with say, much worse tone and 100 more clunkers, people would be complimenting it.

I didn't mean to come off like I was attacking him. I agree that the situation he was in probably didn't get his creative juices flowing. No big deal.
It's probably one of those situations where he made the commitment months in advance and it's a nice sunny Saturday afternoon and he'd rather be doing something else. I'm sure like anyone else he has days where he just doesn't feel like picking up a guitar. That's the way his playing sounds to me in that clip. Maybe he 'perked up' later on in the day.
I guess when someone has the level of reputation and experience like Scolfield we expect guitar magic every single second of the day and that's obviously an unreasonable expectation.
And for the record I'm not a fan of his playing style even on his good days.
