I've heard that coil cables are usually more noisy, though some of the modern day ones may have some shielding or something to take care of that. I like how they look, but won't buy them because I fear they'll be like a phone cord where eventually they just get kinky and twisted beyond straightening them out and then I'd have to buy more cables....
