E to E is just a bass...right?
A guitar tuned E to E, one octave below standard...wouldn't that just be a standard 6 string bass? I think that once you get that low, you lose the appeal and character of a true baritone (B to B, or A to A).
A real baritone gets as low as you can get, and still have chords blend well and not get muddy. Low E to E, on any scale neck, gets too muddy to be effective as a baritone.
I've got the Jerry Jones Neptune Short-horn Baritone, and I usually tune it B to B. This is the best real baritone ever made in my opinion.
